GHS students score well in hippology contest
A team of Gloucester High School Future Farmers of America members scored well in the hippology competition held Oct. 17 during the All-American Quarter Horse Congress in Columbus, Ohio.
GHS 2012 graduate Shelley Brown, senior Lilly Johnson and sophomores Emily Johnston and Anna Henderson-Cox qualified for the national level contest by winning the hippology competition during the Virginia FFA Convention in June.
In Columbus, the hippology contest included a 100-question written exam, a 100-station visual identification test and four rounds of horse judging. It also required responses to both prepared and impromptu team problems.
