A canine sweep of Gloucester secondary schools on Feb. 5 found no alcohol or narcotics, according to Gloucester Sheriff Darrell Warren. The search was conducted by Warren’s office with the assistance of handlers and their dogs from the Virginia Department of Corrections.
Warren was present for the search of Gloucester High School where random hallways, lockers and classrooms were checked. Student vehicles were also inspected by the dogs. There were some tobacco products found, said Capt. John Schick Jr., and those findings were handled by school administrators.
