Discussion continues on funding for Page Middle School
The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors will continue its discussion Tuesday night about how it will fund Page Middle School. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 7 o’clock in the colonial courthouse.
Following two joint meetings of supervisors and the Gloucester County School Board, the supervisors heard several financial options from financial advisor Davenport and Company at its Nov. 1 meeting on how to finance the project.
According to the consultants, depending on which option was chosen, it could cost taxpayers an additional 2.75 to 10 cents on the real estate tax rate. It was estimated that there would be an additional one cent added to the tax rate for every $5 million spent on the project.
Most supervisor members were not ready to commit to an amount the county would give to the schools during the meeting and wanted to become more familiar with the figures.
