Mathews school convocation to be held Aug. 25

Mathews County Public Schools’ opening day convocation will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 25, in the Mathews High School auditorium. The convocation marks the return of teachers and other school staff for the 2010-11 school year.
John T. Persinger, chairman of the Mathews County School Board, and Charles E. Ingram, chairman of the Mathews County Board of Supervisors, have been invited to deliver greetings from their respective boards. Bert Schmidt, president and chief operating officer of WHRO, will be the guest speaker.
