Ware Academy eighth graders joined members of the Fairfield Foundation for an archaeological dig at Long Bridge Ordinary on Friday. Ware evolved from Gloucester County Day School, which was housed at Long Bridge for a time in the 1950s. Above, archaeologist Thane Harpole, left, explained to student Owen Curry how soil layers are distinguished. After hours of digging, sifting and documentation, the students had a new appreciation for archaeological exploration. Photo by Kim Robins
