Thomas Hunter Middle School students Ryan Koebach and Jack Vrooman recently told the Garden Club of Mathews County about their adventures during the summer at Nature Camp.
The Mathews Maritime Foundation, which operates both the Mathews Maritime Museum and the Gwynn’s Island Boat Shop (used for the repair and resale of donated boats), has recently volunteered the boat shop as a location for Rappahannock Community College’s marine trades classes.
The Peasley Middle School Student Council Association has several activities planned this year in conjunction with the school wide theme of “Passport to a Better Future,” according to SCA reporter Jordan McDermott.
Middlesex County Public Schools received a pair of grants totaling $10,000 from the Dominion Foundation through its Educational Grants Partnership Program.
Thomas Hunter Middle School has been nominated for a grant through the Clorox “Power a Bright Future” program.
Several Middle Peninsula residents won awards in the Virginia Farm Bureau Federation’s annual youth poster contest.
