Still feeling the glow

A week since the spectacular Independence Day fireworks show in Mathews, and this Come Here is still feeling the glow. It was obviously the result of a year-long labor of love by the members of the Fireworks Committee and much deserving of our heartfelt thanks for a job well done.
From one who did nothing but show up, sit in childlike awe, head back, eyes wide, mouth formed in a perpetual "wow," thank you for the reminder that America is still worth celebrating, especially in a community like Mathews.
Next year, I want to be able to do more than just give thanks. I want to give back. Where do I sign up?
