Letter: Saying ‘no’ to out-of-control spending
Editor, Gazette-Journal:
Well, it is nearly time to go to the polls once again and as informed citizens exercise our privilege, and yes, our duty, to vote for the candidate of our choice.
Those of us living in the 1st Congressional District are so fortunate to have the chance to vote for Rob Wittman once more to represent us in Congress. I’ve followed his voting record and he has yet to disappoint me. His record has proven him to be a man of integrity and common sense. Having called his office several times, I’ve found him to be accessible and his staff to be courteous and helpful.
This election could be one of the most important this nation will ever face. I hear the Democratic Party calling the GOP the "Party of ‘No’." Well then, thank the Lord for the GOP. Someone needs to say "no" to the policies of this present administration that are leading us far from the representative republic guaranteed by our Constitution. Somebody needs to say "no" to this insane spending that is driving this nation into a depression reminiscent of the Great Depression of the 1930s.
When we vote this November, let us keep in mind the Stimulus Bill, the Health Care Bill, the proposed Cap & Trade Climate Bill, card check, the bailouts, mandates on offshore drilling, endless lawsuits against each state and individual who disagrees with Obama policy, not to mention our unemployment rate. Rob Wittman voted no and I’ll vote yes for him on Nov. 2nd.
