Letter: Where has the integrity of the UMC gone?

Posted on Jun 08, 2011 - 04:22 PM Printer Friendly View

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

How encouraged I was to read the article submitted by Ms. Rainville in the June 2 edition of the Gazette-Journal. Encouraged that devoted Christians are gaining forces to denounce the denial of the truth in various churches; however, in turn, lamenting the need to do so.

Yes, there is unquestionable documentation of participation with Planned Parenthood by the United Methodist Church. Planned Parenthood—the greatest infanticide culprit in this country.

I have attempted to bring this and other grievous concerns to the attention of our minister and the church body; however, this action has been to little avail. No one wants to damage the integrity of a denomination. Yet, through inaction or complacency, do we remain a church that God would look upon with the pride of a father?

I would encourage Bible-believing Christians to research and become informed of the forces facing our churches—the churches that should be the foundation of our country and the precedent setters for our government. For additional information, I would suggest a review of the Institute on Religion and Democracy—www.IRD.org.
