Letter: Volunteers make Gloucester County great

Posted on Feb 22, 2012 - 01:27 PM Printer Friendly View

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

The entire Parks, Recreation and Tourism staff would like to thank all of the wonderful businesses that sponsored our Volunteer Recognition Dinner on Jan. 22. Without their help, this event might well not have taken place. It was a night to recognize all of the wonderful volunteers who help make Gloucester the great community that it is.

Thank you goes out to Yarkey Building and Remodeling, Bobby’s Auto Service Center, Colonial Investment Services, Lifetouch Photography, Olivia’s Restaurant, Village Lanes/Hillside Cinema, Kelsick Specialty Market, York River Crossing Cinemas and Riverside Wellness and Fitness Center.

Special thanks goes to Chick-fil-A for the fine food they provided and to Julie Fourney and her family. The Fourneys are always there. These fine businesses made the evening possible.

The people who operate these businesses are there for us and we appreciate them very much. The volunteers and the support groups we have are what makes Gloucester County great. No amount of negative news can change the people that make up this community. You are the best.

Billy Moore, athletic supervisor
