To the 2012 girls’ volleyball Virginia State Champions: Dear Team Members, Congratulations on your recent victory as state champions for the second year running. The routine events of today will be cherished memories throughout your life. Your individual effort, the effort of your coaches, and your collective success as a team has helped to unify the Mathews community and has brought joy to the hearts of those who love and support you.
As young people, you represent the future of our town and our country. We are proud of you. Your attention to a strong work and study ethic is noteworthy and will serve you well in the future. Your wholesome and healthy lifestyle is a model for your peers. Your teamwork and athleticism, as well as your sportsmanship, make you a real credit to Mathews High School. Thank you for your enthusiastic spirit and positive attitude. You are a source of great community pride.
