Letter: Touched by the community’s support
My wife, Erin, our children, Johnny and Frances, and I were overwhelmed by the graciousness and hospitality of our friends and neighbors in Gloucester and the Middle Peninsula when they blessed us with the honor of being the Daffodil Parade Grand Marshal. To be sure, we do not deserve this honor. It is all of you who have made our Chick-fil-A restaurant the success that it is. It is only because of your enthusiastic patronage of our restaurant that it is even possible to serve you as guests and to give back to our community. It is our family who should be honoring you!
The experience was truly humbling. Each one of your smiling faces that greeted us along the way reflected the face of Our Lord shining through this wonderful community. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you. In particular, my wife and I would like to thank Mrs. Mary Boerner for her love and attention, especially for the little crown of flowers she made for our daughter, Frances! We are also indebted to Mrs. Denise Carter for spearheading such a memorable event.
Please know that I, and the entire Gordon family, will continue to place our Chick-fil-A business at the service of this remarkable community. Our prayers are with you today and always.
