Letter: Thankful for support

Posted on Nov 28, 2012 - 12:37 PM Printer Friendly View

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

On Saturday, Oct. 27, the Botetourt PTA sponsored its first annual Community Fall Festival. This was open to all of our families as well as anyone in the community interested in attending. We had animals, food, rides, games, a cake walk and best of all a dunking booth to benefit the Dr. Pugh Memorial Foundation.

Many local businesses donated items or discounted items to make this event possible. I would like to recognize those who helped and they are as follows: Ken Houtz Chevrolet, the Law Firm of Thomas L. Hunter and Associates, Thompson Painting, Ware Neck Produce, Bill Hudgins GMC, Ginny’s Place, Jessica’s Sweet Shop, Sunrise Donuts, Supercuts, Domino’s of Gloucester, A Hop, Skip and a Stitch, Utz Potato Chips, Food Lion of Gloucester, Natural’s Nails, Tracey’s Touch Cleaning Service, Heather Smith Photography, Collin’s Photography, Joyce Kubeczka-Tupperware, Elisa Nelson-Avon, Lori Drake-Creative Memories, Scentsy-Nicole Joslin and Cindi Sharp, Tracey Leota-Tastefully Simple, Village Lanes, Riverside Wellness and Fitness Center, Threads 4 Kids, The Silver Box, Brickwood Grill, Ready Made Diva and many of our parents who donated items and cakes! Please forgive me if I am forgetting anyone. Thank you so much for all that you did to make this possible.

I would like to say a special the school board members and the superintendent who braved the cold water in our dunking booth. I would also like to recognize the Botetourt staff and parents who spent their Saturday volunteering at the festival. As always, it was a pleasure working with Dr. Thompson and I know the students enjoyed seeing their principal out there having a good time with them! Without you guys, this wouldn’t have been possible. Last but not least, I would like to thank all of our Bulldog families for coming out and supporting this event. We loved seeing you all and we had so much fun!

We can’t wait to do it again next year and thanks again to everyone who helped make this possible!

Carey Boughan

Botetourt PTA board member
