Just a quick line to let you know how proud I am to live in Mathews. I work in Chesterfield County and had to drive all the way home in the worst of the snow last Friday.
When I exited 64, I was all the way to Dutton before I saw the first VDOT or snow removal equipment. But when I reached the Farm Bureau on Rt. 198, our VDOT had practically cleared the major highway all the way to Hudgins and beyond.
I live on Gwynn’s Island and main road here was manageable and encountered a VDOT truck on the Island doing his job. Thanks again, VDOT. You have my vote of confidence. I know you put in a lot of unthankful hours.
