Letter: Saluting our community’s everyday heroes
Many may not know that this is National Emergency Medical Services Week (May 15-21). It is an opportunity for each of us to thank our neighbors, friends and family who give themselves unselfishly to provide pre-hospital emergency medical services to those in need.
Those dedicated individuals are a blessing to our communities and especially those of us who perhaps have called them out in the middle of the night, or away from their family at times when family should be together ... be it dinner, a child’s birthday, a holiday … whatever! On behalf of our Auxiliary, I want to extend our special ‘Thanks’ to our Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad members—our EMS Everyday Heroes!
