Letter: President is unwilling to compromise

Posted on Oct 16, 2013 - 01:09 PM Printer Friendly View

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

It is wrong for our president to accuse the Republicans of blackmailing him, of being extortionists, bullies and obstructionists. The biggest bully is not a Republican, but a Democrat. He is Harry Reid, the Senate majority leader who carries water for the president and takes his direct marching orders from him. The media, who consider our president their "sweetheart," work in tandem with him to help execute and impose his agenda and ideology.

When protocol is not adhered to and cheap street talk is used, there are consequences. Our prestige internationally diminishes, and the world looks at us as a weak and dysfunctional country. We also embolden our enemies to carry out their missions.

Let us be clear. We have a president that will not negotiate and will not compromise. I consider this a "Divide and Conquer Doctrine" that will eventually prove to be a severe blow to our Constitution. This is truly a sad day for America.
