Letter: Northam for lieutenant governor
On June 11, there is a primary election to decide the Democratic nominees for lieutenant governor and attorney general. We support Dr. Ralph Northam in his bid for the lieutenant governor nomination.
We support Ralph because he is very familiar with the Hampton Roads and Tidewater area. He was born and raised in Onancock and worked on the water as a teenager. He graduated from VMI and was president of their Honor Court. He earned his medical degree at Eastern Virginia Medical School. He served in the Army eight years with the rank of major. Many of his patients were servicemen wounded in Desert Storm.
Ralph is a pediatric neurologist at Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters and is volunteer Medical Director for the Edmarc Hospice for Children in Portsmouth. In addition, he serves as Assistant Professor of Neurology at Eastern Virginia Medical School.
Ralph Northam has been Mathews County’s state senator since 2008. He knows the legislators and state government leadership in Richmond. He has led the fight against Republican efforts to get between women and their doctors. He has supported public health measures; protection of the environment, including the Chesapeake Bay; improvement of schools, and solutions to the traffic issues in Hampton Roads.
His fine character is absolutely unmatched. Join us in voting for Dr. Ralph Northam for lieutenant governor on June 11.
