Letter: Incensed by property reassessment

Posted on Dec 08, 2010 - 04:07 PM Printer Friendly View

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

I am one of the many Mathews homeowners who is incensed by the reprehensible 2010 property assessments. My land more than doubled in value.

The National Taxpayers Union says up to 60 percent of U.S. homes are over assessed. Let’s attempt as a group to correct this.

I agree with Rob Thompson’s inspiring letter published in the Gazette-Journal (Dec. 2). Let’s get together, folks, and attempt to do the job we need to do. Stop this mess now.

Carrie B. Poe

Mathews, Va.
