Letter: Gibson has strong background in law enforcement
As a law enforcement professional, the campaign to replace Delegate Harvey Morgan is important to me. Harvey was a friend to law enforcement, and I believe it is crucial that in his place we elect a person who will not only honor this same spirit of service, but build upon that legacy. From my vantage point, there is only one candidate with the credentials on law enforcement—as well as every other issue that matters to the people of the Middle Peninsula—and that is Ken Gibson.
Ken Gibson is a man of exceptional talent and intellect, yet someone who relates to regular people with true concern for our community. He was an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney in Norfolk, and a federal prosecutor at the U.S. Justice Department, where he was assigned to handle extremely sensitive cases involving the most heartbreaking of criminal enterprises. For this he was commended by the FBI director, and he earned an award for outstanding performance by the U.S. Justice Department.
These are extremely important qualifications to consider when choosing who will be the next person to represent our area and fight for our families. Ken is a husband, father of two young twins, a man of faith, and extremely humble despite his proud background. He is a true conservative that believes in limited government and the notion that "We the People" should determine the direction of our nation and our state.
I and many people who work in and around the courthouse have come to know Ken Gibson, and every day we bear witness to his work ethic, his exceptional talent, and his deep dedication to making our community a better place. I believe the people of the Middle Peninsula are fortunate to have the opportunity to have a person of Ken Gibson’s caliber serving us in the General Assembly. I urge all voters to learn more about Ken by contacting his campaign or visiting his website, and then vote for Ken Gibson in the Aug. 23 primary for Delegate.
