Letter: German Festival had great support

Posted on Oct 27, 2010 - 01:55 PM Printer Friendly View

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

The members of Apostles Lutheran Church would like to thank the community for their tremendous support of our German Festival held this past weekend. About 125 people enjoyed the daytime activities, for which we would like to thank Abingdon Volunteer Fire and Rescue, Southern States, the Farmer’s Daughter and Mini-Knights Miniature Horse for their donations and participation.

Over 225 people were served Saturday evening at our authentic German dinner. We apologize to those who were unable to get tickets—it sold out much faster than we had anticipated. Thanks to the Gazette-Journal and Betty Wrenn Day for the wonderful article last week and to Xtra 99.1 FM and Neal Steele for the on-air support.

Since this first year was such a success, we are already making plans for an even better festival in 2011.
