Letter: For Gibson
I write in support of my good friend Ken Gibson, who is seeking the GOP nomination for the 98th District of the Virginia House of Delegates.
I met Ken three years ago and was impressed immediately with his earnest character, and serious demeanor. Ken and I have shared office space since he and his family moved to Gloucester. He exhibits a very hard work ethic and good nature. Ken is extremely well prepared for every court appearance, and his track record of success is proof of his diligence.
Outside of work Ken and I share a love of shooting sports. Last summer Ken wowed the crowd in a friendly afternoon of trap shooting. Firing a 12-gauge autoloader, a 12-gauge over/under and single shot .410, Ken earned high marks in both target proficiency and safe weapon handling. As a former Marine, Ken knows the creed, "Every Marine a rifleman." Throughout his time in the Marine Corps, Ken consistently earned an Expert badge on the rifle range.
The right to keep and bear arms is a staple of a free society where liberty prevails. We are reminded of this right by the current uprisings in Tunisia, Egypt, Yemen, and Libya. If we don’t keep this in mind, Virginia will fail to provide the freedoms to our citizens for which our Founders fought and died. As a skilled attorney, Ken understands the basic rights provided by the Second Amendment of our Constitution, the foundations of the Bill of Rights and their full impact on our freedom.
Ken recently received an "A plus" rating from the Middlesex Sportsmen’s Club. He is a sportsman, an advocate of gun safety and he respects gun rights. Ken can be trusted to represent you with the highest level of excellence, experience and integrity in all matters coming before the General Assembly.
Please join me in supporting Ken Gibson with your vote in the Republican Primary on Aug. 23.
