Letter: For Bazzani
I have known and worked with Phillip Bazzani for almost 30 years at Newport News Shipbuilding and have been extremely impressed with his innovation and ability to generate solid results in his endeavors. I worked at Newport News Shipbuilding as Director II of Business Management for the Virginia Class Submarine Program. Phillip reported to me and oversaw the business management aspects of the highly successful multi-billion dollar Block II submarine contract at Newport News for the teamed construction of six nuclear submarines with Electric Boat of General Dynamics. In this role, Phillip was instrumental in formulating profit and loss, budgets and cost reporting and other strategies.
Phillip earned his undergraduate degree at the College of William and Mary and his Master’s in Business Administration from Old Dominion University. He was hired in July 2013 at Christopher Newport University’s Luter School of Business where he currently teaches business courses as an adjunct professor. He is an excellent family man and friend who will assist anyone in need and can always be counted upon to fulfill his commitments. Finally, Phillip was just recently elevated to Senior Vice President of the Gottesman Company, a commission based endeavor bringing buyers and sellers together for the Mid-Atlantic Region South after he joined the company in 2012 which again demonstrates his leadership abilities.
