Letter: Cycling event puts hospitality on display
As an avid recreational cyclist participating in the annual Tour de Chesapeake,
I spent the last weekend taking in the beauty of Mathews/Gloucester counties and enjoying the hospitality
of its residents.
In my full day of cycling on Saturday, you all were very patient on the roads and hospitable in your volunteering efforts… from signing us in on Friday afternoon through Saturday morning at Thomas Hunter Middle School, to directing us safely in and out of the lunch stop, to serving us snacks while asking where we were from at the glass-blowing rest stop… always helpful and always cheerful. So, to you all, a huge "Thank You."
We came, we rode, we ate, we spent. Thanks for allowing us to invade your paradise for the weekend and making the experience so much fun. Looking forward to 2012!
