Letter: Coleman Swamp Middle School?

Posted on Jan 23, 2013 - 12:52 PM Printer Friendly View

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

Thank you to everyone who has written concerning the new middle school to be built. Please don’t feel that you have wasted time or failed. We never fail or waste time when we stand up for what we believe is right for our children.

Every time I read another of your letters, it makes me feel even stronger that a school built in the Coleman Swamp is a huge mistake.

My question is: If I owned this parcel of land and planned to develop it into a subdivision, just how far would I get? I’m quite sure that the planning committee would kill it in less than a blink of an eye. No thought, no questions asked! The environmental committee would laugh me out of the office.

Thanks so much to Mr. Shackelford, Mr. Poulson, Mr. Componation and others who took the time and effort to write and speak for those of us who believe as you do.

Are we going to name the new middle school the Coleman Swamp Middle School?

Patricia Gwyn
