Letter: Climate change a tool to redistribute wealth

I write in response to Mr. Gregory Haugan’s letter titled “Bad news from the scientists” in the Dec. 12 edition of the Gazette-Journal. Obviously Mr. Haugan is an intelligent person or he would not have earned a Ph.D.
That is why it is surprising that he agrees with the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s position that man-made carbon dioxide (CO2) is causing global warming.
There has been no atmospheric warming in over 16 years, while carbon dioxide levels have steadily increased. As a result the IPCC has now redefined global warming as climate change. Be not deceived, the U.N.’s purported climate change is nothing more than a tool that drives their radical environmental policies. The purpose of these policies is nothing less than wealth redistribution whereby developed countries generating carbon dioxide must purchase carbon credits from undeveloped countries. The redistribution of wealth is a Marxist concept.
The truth about climate change is this. The sun drives the climate, not CO2. You don’t have to be a scientist to understand that human activity can modify climate but it doesn’t control the temperature cycles. It is the sun’s magnetic activity, not its irradiance or brightness, that controls climate. It has to do with the interaction of magnetism, and cosmic particles from the galaxy striking the earth, and cloud formation or seeding in the upper atmosphere. Cloud variation changes temperature by shading or not shading solar irradiance. I think everyone understands the effects of shading. It is that simple.
So don’t worry about climate change. It has been occurring since the beginning of time and is nothing more than a natural occurrence governed only by our creator God.
