Letter: Christmas parade depends on your support

As one of the three members of the Mathews Christmas Parade Committee, I have been asked, "Why isn’t the parade longer? It ends too quickly!" I recently received a folder of parade pictures from years past, and those showed more participation from churches, schools, families, civic groups and businesses.
The parade depends entirely upon community support. The committee appreciates all who join in the fun. Please give consideration to joining us for this year’s parade at 1 p.m. on Dec. 8. It’s fun, it’s free, it’s open to all, and it brings smiles to the children, young and old, of Mathews.
Registration forms are available at the Mathews Visitor and Information Center or from Jo Ann Mulvany (725-7984) and are due by Dec. 3.
