Letter: Bringing the prom back to Mathews
The Mathews High School Class of 2015 would like to thank the wonderful community of Mathews County for their support and generosity in making Prom 2014 a wonderful night for the students who attended.
Let me first begin by stating that our prom would not have been as successful as it was if it had not been for the assistance of the Piankatank Ruritan Club. Their wonderful organization allowed us to bring the prom back to Mathews County and helped us keep our children safe and closer to home.
I would also like to thank Flowers from the Heart for their continued support and for the beautiful work that they do for us throughout the year.
Mathews High School would also like to recognize the Mathews County Sheriff’s Department deputies that watched over our students at the prom and stayed into the wee hours of the morning at the high school, to supervise After Prom.
Finally, I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to the wonderful parents and teachers who assisted the students in decorating, chaperoning, and stayed to clean up the facility after the students had left. Without your tireless support and enthusiasm, prom would not have been as fantastic as it was.
It is truly a pleasure to live and work in Mathews County, Virginia, and the students at Mathews High School are very blessed.
