The Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society’s Annual Auction, this year called the “Bone-Nanza Extravaganza,” was a huge success thanks to the efforts of our entire community. The animals wish to thank everyone who helped make it happen including sponsors Chesapeake Bank, Naked Mountain Winery, Ken Houtz Chevrolet, Dean and Cam Williams, Shannon Fedors and Jerry Ferguson, Betsy and Jaik Henderson, Clay and Madeline Mayhood, Sentara Healthcare, Colonial Virginia Bank, Rennie and John Dutton.
Special thanks to our incredible emcee Jay Hutchins and his wife, Denise, of Brent and Becky’s Bulbs, and our superb auctioneer, Christine Corbin. We are so grateful for the support of businesses and individuals throughout Gloucester, Mathews, and Middlesex for their amazing outpouring of donations to the live and silent auctions. Lamar Whitmore of Electric Ink Graphic Design created the wonderful designs for our T-shirts (still available) and promotional materials. Ralph Jackson, Bart Barbee, Bob Middleton, Meg Carmine, Mobjack Bay Coffee Roasters gave their support in multiple areas. Our fantastic food was donated by Pamela Mullins and her team and Julia Lee of Deltaville Inn Bed and Breakfast and Juan’s Mexican Café. Finally, a big thanks to the Board of Directors, the Auction Committee, the staff of GMHS, and all our wonderful patrons and guests and many others. The animals say “Thank you” and “See you down at the Ponderosa.”
