Letter: America has lost its moral compass
America is no longer the greatest country in the world. One reason why America is no longer number one is due to liberalism. Liberals are losers.
Liberal college professors are poisoning the minds of our youth. Some say that we are the greatest because we enjoy freedom. There are about 180 countries that enjoy freedom. There is no evidence to support the statement that we are the greatest country.
We are seventh in literacy, 27th in math, 22nd in science, 49th in life expectancy, 178th in infant mortality, third in household income, fourth in labor force and fourth in exports. America leads the world in three categories: number of incarcerated citizens per capita, number of adults who believe in angels and amount of money spent on defense—where we spend more than the next 26 countries combined, 25 of whom are allies.
We surely used to be the greatest. We stood up for what was right, we fought for and passed laws for moral reasons. We waged war on poverty, not poor people. We sacrificed. We cared for our neighbors. We built great things, made technological advances, explored the universe, cured diseases, cultivated the world’s greatest artists and the world’s greatest economy. We reached for the stars and we acted like men.
We were able to do all of these things because of our belief and trust in “God” and were informed by great men who were revered. The first step in solving a problem is recognizing that we have one.
As I read the newspapers and watch TV, I am in disbelief. America’s morals have severely eroded. Our president lies about everything. Countries all over the world despise us. This administration has indebted us to the point that our grandchildren will have to pay for their reckless spending practices.
World leaders see this president as a weakling. He surely doesn’t care that our military has been diminished under his watch. I thank God for these brave men and women who serve in our military so that we may enjoy freedom. They deserve better treatment from our government when they come home.
There are scandals galore in every administration, but in this administration there is the IRS scandal, the Benghazi tragedy, the NSA spying situation. And, when asked about these events, the administration either tells a lie or evades the questions. Heads need to roll. The politicians in both parties are not uniting to serve “We the People.” Their only goal is to further their cause for power and votes. All of them should serve one term and then be voted out.
The final segment of this letter refers to morals. Since Roe v. Wade 41 years ago, it is estimated that 57 million unborn have been aborted (“murdered”). The homosexual and same sex marriage situation is a tragedy. Virginia’s new Attorney General Mark Herring stated that he won’t defend Virginia’s gay marriage ban. He has flip-flopped on this. He states that Virginia has switched sides in the nation’s gay marriage fight. Is this another liberal college poll?
Herring said, “It’s time for the Commonwealth to be on the right side of history and the right side of the law.” These politicians are pushing their agenda to change this country as it was founded by our forefathers based on the Judeo-Christian philosophy.
The old saying, “Everything changes, nothing remains the same.” The only thing that doesn’t change and never will, is God’s Word. We, as a people, had better get our lives right with God and follow his teachings.
I loved America more when it was the way it used to be. God have mercy on us and may God bless America.
