Letter: A ‘thank you’ from the DAV

Posted on Oct 03, 2012 - 11:33 AM Printer Friendly View

Editor, Gazette-Journal:

Disabled American Veterans Chapter and Unit 58 recently conducted an annual Forget-Me-Not fundraiser in Gloucester County and surrounding areas. The DAV would like to thank the citizens of the communities for their participation in making this a very successful event. DAV also thanks Walmart, Farm Fresh and the ABC stores in Gloucester, Hayes and Urbanna for allowing us to set up donation tables.

All donations received as a result of this drive stay here in the county to assist with helping veterans in the Gloucester, Mathews and Middlesex counties. DAV services provided include van transportation to local VA hospitals, assistance in filing VA disability claims, and limited food and clothing assistance.

Chapter Service Officer and Unit assistance is available from 9 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday, or by appointment. The chapter is located at 6265 Professional Drive, Gloucester. Tel: 804-695-1558.
