Letter: A passion for education

It was with deep sadness that I listened as Dr. Mike Richards announced his resignation from the school board at the July 20 meeting.
Dr. Mike has been a valuable member of the school board and his attention to detail and ability to ask the "right" questions will be greatly missed. He has a passion for education and the Mathews County school system, which has been evident throughout his short tenure on the board.
It is my prayer that his health will improve, but as a member of the board I wanted him to know how much his insight, knowledge and sense of humor will be missed at each meeting. I wish to thank him for his time and service to Mathews County as a dedicated school board member.
