Editorial: A community grieves
Tragedy struck Gloucester in the early morning hours Wednesday, with the loss of three young children and an adult in a house fire on Summerville Drive. What can one say at a time like this? Words are inadequate to express the sorrow felt by the entire community.
It’s hard to see any good, but it helps to focus on the firefighters who rushed into the house, risking their own lives to save others. These dedicated volunteers deserve our sincere thanks and praise.
Some may be comforted by the outpouring of support from others that is sure to follow—complete strangers coming together to offer the family financial and emotional help in this most trying of times. Still others may look to their faith to get them through this rough patch.
Our hearts go out to the family. Nothing more can be said.
