Joseph Earl Kemp, 92, of Yorktown, died peacefully on March 13, 2013 at Walter Reed Convalescent Center.
Mr. Kemp retired in 1982 from Fort Eustis. He was a wonderful provider for his family and enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Much of the time Mr. Kemp could be found working in his yard, a hobby he thoroughly enjoyed.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Hilda Phillips Kemp in 2006.
He is survived by his daughter, Teresa L. Sullivan and husband Kenneth; son, Ronald E. Kemp; grandchildren, Ryan and Adam Kemp and Suzanne Sullivan, and two sisters-in-law, Esther Abbitt and Julia Phillips.
Funeral service conducted by the Rev. Arthur L. Wolz Jr. was held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2013, at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment followed in Gloucester Point Cemetery. The family received friends Sunday, March 17, 2013, from 4-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
