Dr. William Kenneth Lennon Sr., 82, of Mathews, Va., passed away peacefully on Dec. 1, 2012.
Dr. Lennon practiced family dentistry in Mathews County for 48 years. He was an alumnus of Randolph-Macon College and MCV/VCU School of Dentistry. He was a member of Petsworth Baptist Church of Gloucester, Va. He was a former member of the Lions Club, Ruritan Club, and the Mathews Yacht Club.
Dr. Lennon is survived by his wife of 59 years, Doris Mallory Lennon; son, William Kenneth Lennon Jr. and his wife Barbara; son, Dr. Charles Bentley Lennon and his wife Vonda; daughter, Melanie Lucretia Hall and her husband Roy. He was preceded in death by his son, Darryl Mallory Lennon. He has eight grandchildren, William Lennon III, Tyler, Chandler, and Skyler Lennon, Heath and Heather Lennon, Victoria Gordon and Rebecca Hall. Dr. Lennon also has a brother, Jesse Sloan Lennon and his wife Betty.
A funeral service officiated by the Rev. Dr. Clint Miller was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at Petsworth Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Petsworth Church Cemetery. The family received friends prior to the service from 1-2 o’clock at the church on Wednesday.
