Harry Daniel "Dan" Moore, 66, of Walkerton, Va., died Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at his home.
Dan was a plant manager for MacSweeny Meat Company. Dan was a longtime Washington Redskins fan, whether they won or lost, and an Atlanta Braves fan. He enjoyed sports and golfing.
In his 66 years, Dan touched so many with his kind spirit and ever-present smile. Although it wasn’t nearly enough time to be here on earth, his smile will live on in each of us.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John D. Moore Jr. and Marie Mears Moore.
He is survived by his brother, Billy Moore and wife Pam; sister, Jackie Williams and husband Glynn; nieces, Caitlin, and Shannon and husband Tom; nephew, John; a great-niece; great-nephew, and Andy, his faithful canine companion.
There will be a gathering of family and friends to "Remember Dan" at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 4, 2012, at Nick’s Spaghetti and Steak House, Gloucester Point.
In Dan’s memory, donations may be sent to Park Partners, c/o Gloucester Parks and Recreation, 6467 Main Street, Gloucester, Va. 23061 or Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society, P.O. Box 385, Gloucester, Va. 23061.
