A graveside service for Harry Edward Saulman, 82, of Hayes, was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Bellamy Memorial Cemetery, Gloucester. He died Friday, Aug. 26, 2011.

He served his country in the U.S. Army and U.S. Navy serving aboard the USS Wisconsin. Mr. Saulman retired from Newport News Shipbuilding as a machinist. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Terry Saulman Williams; parents, Kittie A. and Andrew E. Saulman; brother, Bill Saulman; and sisters, Faye Watson, Libby Miller and Mary Christian.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Mabel Saulman; sons, Harry E. Saulman II and Dale A. Saulman; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The service was conducted by the Rev. Richard Whiteheart.

Hogg Funeral Home and Crematory, Gloucester Point, was in charge.
