Daniel Thomas (Tommy) King Jr. of Richmond went to meet his Lord after a long struggle with failing health on May 20, 2011.

He was preceded in death by his father, Daniel T. King Sr., and a brother, Danny Lee King. 

He is survived by his son, Eric King; a daughter, Renee Kellison and husband Donald, all of Petersburg; his mother, Anna Mae King; sister, Brenda Cordle and husband Mike, all of Luttrell, Tenn.; and a brother, Ronald King and wife Diane of Williamsburg.

Mr. King was a graduate of Giles County High School and the U.S. Naval Justice School serving as a Yeoman in the Fifth Naval District. After his military service he graduated from John Tyler Community College with a degree in Electrical Engineering.

He also attended Wytheville Community College training as a RN completing his training at Stakes-Reynolds Memorial Hospital.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of McGuire VA Hospital in Richmond for their diligent and loving care.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, May 26, 2011, at 11 a.m. in the Reedswood Christian Church, Gloucester. Interment will be private.
