Winifred "Winnie" H. Putt Powell of Grimstead, Va., passed away on Monday, July 2, 2012.

She was a member of Gwynn’s Island Baptist Church. Winnie was a loving mother, grandmother and wife.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, William H. (Bill) Putt and Frank R. Powell; her parents, George Roland Hudgins Sr. and Bessie Minter Hudgins; her siblings, Arnold Hudgins, Roland Hudgins Jr., and Millicent Small.

She is survived by her children, George "Terry" Putt and wife Neena of Mathews, Va., Susan Putt White of Kilmarnock, Va., Michael Putt and wife Patricia of Williamsburg, Va. and Chris Putt and wife Kathy of Gwynn’s Island, Va.; a brother, Bobby Hudgins and his wife Gloria of Hayes, Va.; 12 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

The family received friends on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 from 7-8:30 p.m. at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow in Gwynn’s Island Cemetery, Grimstead.
