A funeral for Roland Taylor, 62, of Williamsburg, was held at 2 p.m. Monday in New Mount Zion Baptist Church, Woods Cross Roads. He died Tuesday, May 10, 2011.
A native of Newport News, he graduated from Thomas Hunter High School, Mathews. After serving in the U.S. Navy and the National Guard, he was employed at Newport News Shipyard and Eastern State Hospital, Williamsburg.
Survivors include two daughters, a sister, and a brother.
Interment with military honors followed in the church cemetery.
Knight Funeral Home, Mathews, was in charge.
