RICHARD LYNN INGRAM

Richard Lynn Ingram, 53, Gloucester, passed away unexpectedly after an accident on Saturday, April 16, 2011.

Richard was born in Newport News, and was a lifelong Peninsula resident. He was a 1975 graduate of Tabb High School, and was employed with Measurement Specialties in Hampton as an engineer, specializing in research and development. He was an avid NASCAR fan, and had a passion for working with anything mechanical. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and attended Providence United Methodist Church in Yorktown.

Richard was preceded in death by his mother, Helen C. Ingram. He is survived by his father, Richard G. Ingram; his sisters, Cynthia G. Ingram of Yorktown, Va., Martha E. Ingram of Mechanicsville, Va., Diana "Dee" Ingram Burcher and her husband Barry of Poquoson; his "only" nephew Tyler Burcher of Poquoson, and his best friends, David Cianelli and Tim Worst of Yorktown. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, at Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family received friends from 6:30-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19, in Amory Funeral Home, Grafton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc., 2600 Network Blvd., Suite 300, Frisco, Texas 75034.
