Nita Thomas Jackson, 77, of Chesterfield, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 17, 2011.

Born in Richmond, she was preceded in death by her father, Claude A. Thomas; husband, John Kenneth Jackson Sr.; son, John Kenneth "Kenny" Jackson Jr., and grandson, John Kenneth Jackson III.

She is survived by her mother, Goldie L. Thomas; four daughters, Teresa Hamlett (Herbert Wayne), Deborah Siddons (Scott), Darlene Duty (Greg), Beth Jones; nine grandchildren, Toni Jackson, James Keith Jackson, Joseph K. Jackson, Christina Hamlett, Gary Hamlett (Lizzie Gossard), Bradley Siddons (Sarah Meunier), Sarah Siddons (Chad Lowe), Christopher Siddons, and Lacy Duty (Justin Golding); granddaughter-in-law, Rena Jackson; great-grandson, Bryan Siddons; two sisters, Claudia Henderson, Patricia Morris (Garland); and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family received friends from 5-8 p.m., Monday, June 20, 2011, at Morrissett Funeral Home, 6500 Iron Bridge Rd. (Rt. 10), Richmond, where funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday. Interment followed in Dale Memorial Park, 10201 Newbys Bridge Rd., Chesterfield.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Heart Association or the Massey Cancer Center.
