Mary Estelle Kellum Edwards, 84, of Hayes, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2011, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Gloucester County and was the daughter of the late Herbert and Ethel Hogge Kellum. She was an active member of Union Baptist Church and the Fidelis Sunday School Class.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius Arben Edwards, who died in 2006, and her granddaughter Heather Jenkins, two brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her children, Herbert Paul Edwards and his wife Kay of Bena, Julia Ann Blake and her husband Joe of Hayes, and Fay Edwards and her fiancé Richard Clifton of Newport News; six grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

The family received friends from 2-3 p.m. Wednesday at Andrews Funeral Home, Gloucester, with the funeral held at 3 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Richard Whiteheart and the Rev. Rodney Autry. Burial was in Gloucester Point Cemetery.
