Katie Sawyer Grella Couch, 73, of Gloucester,lost her courageous battle with cancer and went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 9, 2011.

She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Poquoson, and the Nell Pauls Circle, and a member of Gloucester Moose Lodge. She loved bluegrass music and playing guitar.

Katie was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Vinny Grella; son, Bobby Allen; daughter, Cheryl Anne Allen; brother, John Lane; and nephew, Steven Lane.

She is survived by her husband, Aster Couch; her children, Barbara McGee and husband Donnie, Sharon Greeley and husband James, and Gina Marcello; stepchildren, Lynn Burnett and husband Dave, and John Couch; grandchildren, Donnie McGee and wife Lisa, Sherrie McGee Johnson and husband Art, Michael Dugo, Katelyn Marcello, JoJo Marcello, Joshie Marcello, Robert James West, Charlie Burton, and K.W. Burton; step-grandchildren, Adam Burnett, Nicholas Couch, and Holly Burnett, and great-grandchildren, Crystal McGee, Courtney McGee, and Anthony Johnson.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday at Trinity United Methodist Church. Burial followed at Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News.
