JAMES WARREN HOGGE JR.

James Warren Hogge Jr., 63, of Achilles, died Aug. 9, 2011 at his home.

Jimmie was a member of Union Baptist Church, a graduate of Gloucester High School, and owner of J. W. Hogge Seafood, Inc.

He was an avid outdoor sportsman who loved to hunt duck and geese and run dogs. Jimmie was a member of the Tidewater Fox Hunter’s Association, served on the Board of Directors of July Nationals and President of the Eastern July Breeders Association. He will be greatly missed and always remembered by his family and the many people who were proud to call him their friend.

His father, James W. Hogge Sr., preceded him in death.

He is survived by wife, Sandra Owens Hogge; son, Willie Hogge and wife Jenny; mother, Christine H. Emerson; grandson, James W. "Jimmie" Hogge III; sister, Dolly Henderson, and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Richard Whiteheart were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Interment followed in Rosewell Memorial Garden. The family received friends Friday from 7-8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

In memory of James W. "Jimmie" Hogge Jr., contributions may be made to the Animal Aid Society, Inc., a "no kill" shelter, 80 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, Va. 23666.
