Irene Mary Knott, 76, of Mathews, passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of Tuesday, April 12, 2011 surrounded by her family.

Irene was preceded in her death by her parents, John and Stella Buchowski and her three brothers, John, Stanley and Edward Buchowski.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her husband, Kenneth Morgan Knott Sr. and her two sons, Ken and Tim Knott.

Mom was and will always be remembered as a wonderful proud, loving, caring, and supportive wife and mother.

Irene has touched many lives since she moved to Mathews 25 years ago. She made a great many wonderful friends in her time as a restaurant manager at Andy’s Bar-B-Que and more recently, her many years at Walmart.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Gloucester-Mathews Humane Society, 6620 Jackson Lane, Gloucester, Va. 23061 from whom Irene and Ken adopted all of their many rescued pets over the past 25 years.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2011, at 2 p.m. in the Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home Chapel.
