Holland C. Diggs, 82, of Port Haywood, died April 16, 2011, at Walter Reed Memorial Hospital.
Holland was a retired Merchant Seaman for Gulf Oil and also retired from the Mathews County School System in the maintenance department. He was born and lived in Mathews County most of his life except when he was serving his country in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his children, Barbara and Joshua Diggs. May he rest in peace with his sister, Juanita Burroughs.
A memorial service has not been determined at this time.
Instead of flowers, the family wishes that signs of condolences be in the form of donations to the Mathews Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 723, Mathews, Va. 23109.
Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home, Mathews, is in charge.
