A funeral for Elmer (Buddy) Willis, 77, of Gloucester, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Union Zion Baptist Church, Schley. He died Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Ora Willis; his wives, Marva Fitchgerald Willis and Willie Mae Cofield Willis, and 11 siblings.
Mr. Willis was a member of Union Zion Baptist Church. He received the rank of Airman 2nd Class in the U.S. Air Force, and received an honorable discharge on March 3, 1956. He was employed by the Atlantic Richfield Gas Company in Wilmington, Del., for 15 years and the Aladdin Bus Company for 22 years. He moved back to Gloucester in 2000.
Survivors include his children, Ryan Willis of Philadelphia, Pa., and Ella and Ellisha Willis of Maryland; his sisters, Jane Foster, Christine Davis, and Velma Green, all of Gloucester.
Viewing will be held at 11 a.m. Friday prior to the service. Burial with military rites will be in the family cemetery in Ware Neck.
