A memorial service for Downing Overton Harper, 75, of Chesterfield, was held at 3 p.m. Saturday in Bliley’s Funeral Home, Chippenham. He died Sept. 11, 2012.
He was a former resident of Gloucester County.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Cliborne Harper; daughter, Shelia Harper Newman; brothers, Philip J. Harper and W. Thomas Fitchett; sisters, Thelma H. Wilson, Frances H. Carlton and Bertha Dixon, all of Gloucester, and a granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Milby Hargrove; father, Downing C. Harper, and sister, Ann Milby of Gloucester.
