Dennis Earl Gordon, 62, of Gloucester Point, died Aug. 26, 2012 at Riverside Walter Reed Hospital.

Dennis was a retired Sergeant from the United States Army. He loved the military and proudly served his country.

He enjoyed traveling with his wife Barbara. He also enjoyed going to Busch Gardens, and worked there part-time.

Dennis loved his family and his grandchildren were his pride and joy.

He was preceded in death by his father, Irving Gordon.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Ann Gordon; children, Kay M. Hight, Timothy Mahoney and wife Alicia, and Brian Mahoney and wife Christina; mother, Josephine S. Gordon; grandchildren, Tara Manire, Maeghan Mahoney, Cody Mahoney, Delaney Doyle, Ryan Mahoney, Connor Mahoney, Justin Hight and Lauren Mahoney; sisters, Sandy Babb, Denise Rodriguez, Debbie Lipswazy; brothers, Irvin Gordon and Gary Gordon.

Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Ray Goude Jr., were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Gloucester Point Baptist Church. Interment was at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Road, Suffolk. The family received friends Tuesday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.
