CARROLL OTIS FOSTER

Carroll Otis "C.O." Foster, 75, of Wicomico, died at Riverside Regional Medical Center on Nov. 12, 2012.

Carroll was a native of Gloucester and a very active member of Providence Baptist Church, a member and president of the Men’s Bible Class; sang in the church choir, and was treasurer of the cemetery fund for many years. He served in the U.S. Army, worked at the Gloucester Coca-Cola Plant, VIMS as Pathfinder Pilot, and retired after 34 years as Q.A. Inspector, Ordnance Department at the Naval Weapons Station, Yorktown.

He loved hunting and was a member of the Coleman Hunt Club. Carroll found pleasure in many different activities, going to car shows, listening to bluegrass music and playing with "Poodle dog." He loved to laugh and joke with his friends and family. He loved his family and was devoted to them, helping and supporting them in all their endeavors.

Carroll will be missed by so many, but always remembered.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Sidney and Martha Estelle Foster; sisters, Marie "Diddie" Hogge, Barbara Miller, Rachel Armistead, and Lola Foster.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Patricia H. Foster; daughter, Angela F. Pierce and husband David; son, Wade Foster; grandchildren that he adored, Justin D. Pierce, Heather Y. Pierce, Marie D. Foster, Rebecca D. Foster; sister, Iris Mae Foster; brother, John S. Foster, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Dr. Richard Croxton will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Providence Baptist Church, 3501 Providence Road, Hayes. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point.

In memory of Carroll, contributions may be given to Providence Baptist Church, Cemetery Fund, c/o Stanley Phillips, 3640 Newton Street, Hayes, Va. 23072.
